The ICM Innovation Roundtables were initiated in 2019 to facilitate discussion and explore new ideas to grow the Islamic capital market ecosystem by engaging with industry participants representing demand, supply and infrastructure of Shariah compliant capital market products and services. The Roundtables are a joint initiative between the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and its affiliate Capital Markets Malaysia (CMM) with the view that for the SC’s market development policies and strategies to be effective, continuous engagement with industry players is necessary.
This particular engagement centred around discussions on internationalizing Malaysia’s Islamic fund management industry – identifying market driven solutions to overcome the challenges that stakeholders foresee, discussing the opportunities that may be tapped on, and what role needs to be played by all parties in order to move this agenda forward.
